Water Crisis: After a year-long war between Gaza and Israel, Israel has now started a war with Lebanon. For the past several days, Israel has been continuously carrying out air strikes in Lebanon. Thousands of people have been killed in these attacks. On Saturday, Israel destroyed a water project by firing a missile on the outskirts of the city of Sheba in south-eastern Lebanon. Sources in the Sheba municipality gave this information to the news agency Xinhua.
Let us tell you that this project provides drinking water to dozens of villages and towns in the Al-Arqub, Hasbaya, and Marjeyoun areas of southern Lebanon. Sources said that due to this attack, there was an explosion in the main exit of the project, due to which the water supplied to the villages started flowing out.
2000 families are yearning for water
The South Lebanon Water Foundation said on Saturday that the project had suffered serious damage due to Israeli shelling. The municipalities of Al-Arqoub and Hasbaya issued a statement saying, “We appeal to government agencies, international institutions, and UNIFIL forces to take immediate steps to repair the damage caused by the Israeli attack on the drinking water project, so that more than 2,000 families can get water.”
