Year Ender 2024: In 2024, a big boom of IPOs was seen in the Indian stock market, where startups took full advantage of it. This year, about 13 startup companies launched IPOs and raised a total of Rs 29,247.4 crore. This figure was much bigger than the last three years. 10 startups launched IPOs in 2021, 6 in 2022 and 6 in 2023 as well.
Equation of Fresh Issue and Offer for Sale
Out of these 13 IPOs, Rs 14,672.9 crore was raised through fresh issue, which went directly into the accounts of the companies. Whereas, Rs 14,574.5 crore was Offer for Sale (OFS), which benefits existing investors and promoters. Fresh issue in IPO is important for the development of the company.
List of companies: Which startups are included?
The prominent names in the IPO list of startups in 2024 included big names like Swiggy, Ola Electric, FirstCry, Digit Insurance and Mobikwik. Of these, Swiggy launched the largest IPO of Rs 11,327.43 crore. This was followed by Ola Electric which raised Rs 6,145.56 crore. The IPOs of FirstCry and Digit Insurance were also spectacular, raising Rs 4,193.73 crore and Rs 2,614.65 crore respectively.
Subscription and Listing Gains
Among the mainboard startup IPOs, Unicommerce got the highest subscription of 168.39 times, Mobikwik got 119.38 times and Office got 108.56 times. These figures show that investors were very enthusiastic about these companies.
Startups also performed well in terms of listing. TAC Security gave the highest listing gain of 173.58 percent. It was followed by Unicommerce (117%) and Mobikwik (57.71%).
It is worth noting that the IPO year of 2024 was very successful for startups, and it indicates the beginning of new opportunities in the Indian stock market. In the coming times, more startups will try to make their mark in the market through IPO.
