The Congress raised questions over the BJP-led government for the rise in number of railway accidents that include Pushpak Express incident where the death toll looks like 11 at the moment. The President of congress of Maharashtra Nana Patole stressed that despite the introduction of the Kavach train protection system, which is signaling mobile tower, more railway accidents continue to increase. ‘There contradict my data with theirs, no 24- 25 people have been reported dead because of the accident,’ he said. ‘In recent times, we have noticed a constant increment in Railway Accidents… The Kavach failed to implement. ‘ Said Mr Patole as per Logan report. The senior citizens of the party went further and said that the prime minister Modi should also resign, quoting reference from the previous Railway Minister Lal Shastri.
There is a case of Lal Bahadur Shastri resigning after a train crash in 1956. In this context, Modi also ought to resign.
Nana Patole’s address to congress before the video went live. Shastri resigned, so should Modi. 24-25 people have perished from the accident according to our estimate. Recently, we have witnessed a constant rise in the number of railway accidents. ‘Kavach’ (a train protection system) was maybe supposed to fix that.
As per details, eleven corpses were discovered after the people alighted from their coaches to escape a fire rumor and were struck by another engine traveling on parallel lines in the Jalgaon region of north Maharashtra on Wednesday evening. The express train journeying from Lucknow to Mumbai Pushpak express had his chain pulled around 1700 hours. Central railway officials state that this occurred on fine Wednesday evening around four hundred kilometers out of Mumbai between both the Meheji station and Pardhade station not far from Pachora.
What Led To This Mishap?
A passenger on board the train traveling from Lucknow to Mumbai triggered the panic by pulling the emergency chain. Some passengers got down and climbed over to the other side of the track. While this was happening, an express train that was en route from Bangalore to Delhi passed by, leading to injuries for some passengers. Footage from the incident reveals severed body parts along with several corpses.
According to our first sources, at one point in time, inside one of the general coaches of the Pushpak Express, there was hot smoke and sparks, which led to a ‘hot axle’ or brake grabbing. This triggered panic among a few passengers who pulled the emergency chain and jumped from the train while the Karnataka express was still passing by the general coach, A senior railway official told PTI.
