The Health Ministry has banned many medicines that are commonly used on a daily basis. This year, a decision was taken to remove about 156 medicines from the market. These medicines include many medicines including painkillers and diabetes medicines.
Ban on containing phenylephrine-
The medicines which have been banned this year include 'Containing Phenylephrine'. This medicine is commonly used for cold, cough and flu. If this medicine is used excessively, it can cause heart related problems. Many researches have also revealed that this medicine can also increase blood pressure.
Along with this, many medicines for urine infection have also been removed from the market. Let us tell you that a mixture of Ofloxacin and Flavojet is used for urine infection, but now these medicines have disappeared from the market.
Action on high dose of paracetamol-
At the same time, some medicines containing high doses of paracetamol have also been removed from the market. In 2024, the Health Ministry banned some high doses of paracetamol which were dangerous for health. At the same time, the government has also banned some female infertility medicines. This medicine was used for women's infertility, which is no longer available in the market.
The government has also removed medicines containing high doses of vitamin D from the market. Many medicines used for eye infections have also been removed from the market. These include naphazoline + chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine + hydroxypropylmethylcellulose + boric acid + menthol + camphor combination medicines. Along with this, medicines like chlorpheniramine maleate + sodium chloride + boric acid + tetrahydrozoline have also been removed from the market.
Along with this, some medicines containing combination of minerals and multivitamins have also been banned. Antibiotics like "Cefitin" and "Colistin" have also been banned. Along with migraine medicines, some medicines used for stomach pain, acidity and vomiting have been banned in the market.
