Almost everyone likes the cold weather. However, during this time the risk of heart-related problems increases to a great extent and it can be dangerous for the heart. During this time, cases of heart attack are seen more, as well as the risk of heart-related diseases increases. However, there can be many reasons behind this, about which we should be cautious. Reason-
- Shrinkage of blood vessels- The blood vessels of the body shrink in cold weather, which increases blood pressure. This puts more pressure on the heart.
- Thickening of blood- Blood thickens in cold weather, which increases the risk of blood clots. This can cause a heart attack.
- Decrease in physical activity- In winter, people move less and do not exercise, due to which the heart can weaken.
- Efforts to keep the body warm- The heart works harder to keep the body warm in cold weather, which increases the risk of heart attack.

- Pain or heaviness in the chest
- Difficulty in breathing
- feeling dizzy or weak
- pain in the arm, shoulder, jaw, or back
- Excessive sweating
Ways to avoid it-
- Wear warm clothes
Always wear warm clothes to avoid cold. Keep your head, hands and feet covered.
- Do light exercise
Do yoga, stretching, or light exercise at home
- Eat good food
Include fruits, vegetables and healthy fats like almonds, fish in your diet
- Avoid smoking and alcohol
These can harm your heart health
- Keep blood pressure and sugar under control
