According to sources, AIMIM may give ticket to Shahrukh Pathan from Seelampur assembly seat. Earlier, AIMIM has given ticket to Tahir Hussain, another accused in the riots. Shahrukh Pathan is an accused in the Delhi riots case. The incident of pointing a pistol is from Jafrabad-Maujpur area. Shahrukh is accused of pointing a pistol at Head Constable Deepak Dahiya and attempting to murder Rohit Shukla. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.

AIMIM Delhi President Shoaib Jamai wrote in a post on Instagram, “Recently, Shahrukh's mother was met at his house in jail. A delegation of AIMIM met his family. Discussions were held regarding his condition and legal aid. This small step will encourage many families whose children have been in jail for years without trial. His mother says that the case was registered against her son at the behest of former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and he will not be able to forget this.”

There is talk of giving ticket to Shahrukh Pathan from Seelampur seat, AAP has given ticket to Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed. Abdul Rehman of Congress is in the fray. BJP has not announced its candidate.
