Aaj Ka Mausam 25 December: Conditions are difficult in entire North India including Delhi-NCR due to cold and fog. Rain and snowfall have brought down the temperature. According to IMD, the weather will be clear on Christmas, but there will be fog. There may be light drizzle after 26 December.
According to the Meteorological Department, people are shivering due to cold wave after light and heavy rains in some areas of Delhi in the last two days. The weather has become more pleasant due to the ongoing snowfall in the hilly states. There is a possibility of rain in many states including Delhi even after Christmas.
How will the weather be in Delhi?
Today the weather will be clear in Delhi-NCR. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8 degrees Celsius. However, even after the rain in the national capital Delhi, the pollution situation did not change and the air quality remained at 'severe' level.
AQI still at dangerous level
The average AQI (Air Quality Index) of the air at 7 am on Wednesday was around 350. Talking about the main areas of Delhi, 363 was recorded in Anand Vihar, 360 in Bawana, 275 in Chandni Chowk, 374 in Dwarka, 327 in ITO, 298 in Lodhi Road, 348 in Patparganj, 357 in RK Puram, 377 in Rohini, 373 in Punjabi Bagh.
From December 16, stringent measures were implemented across the NCR under Phase 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), but despite this the air quality remains very poor. The measures of this phase of GRAP are the most stringent to reduce pollution.
Snowfall continues in the mountains
Talking about the weather of other states, Punjab will witness a double dose of cold wave and fog on Christmas Day today. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. Cold wave along with dense fog will trouble Haryana too. The situation will remain the same on December 26. There is a possibility of rain here on December 27.

The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Monday night was recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius below zero, while the temperature in Pahalgam was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius below zero. The effect of cold is also being seen in Uttar Pradesh. No cold wave alert has been issued in the state but a warning of dense fog has been issued.
