Israel Hezbollah War: While the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah has broken the back of this terrorist organization, Iran has also suffered a setback. The war between Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel continues. Israel is continuously carrying out air strikes on Hezbollah bases in Lebanon. Meanwhile, big information related to Nasrallah's death has come to light.
The Hezbollah chief died because of the Vibhishan hidden in the house of the same Iran that is vowing to take revenge for Nasrallah's death. An Iranian spy had informed Israel about the underground bunker in Beirut where Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was hiding.
Iranian agent told the location.
According to a report in the French newspaper Le Parisien, undercover agents informed Israeli authorities about Nasrallah's presence at Hezbollah's underground headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs. The intelligence revealed that Nasrallah was attending a meeting with senior members of the terror group at a six-building complex located in Dahieh, a densely populated area known for its support of Hezbollah.
The attack took place on Saturday afternoon.
Israeli authorities reportedly received the information just hours before the airstrike on Saturday afternoon. At around 1.30 pm IST (11 am Lebanon time), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on social media platform X that Nasrallah had been killed, and said he would no longer be able to terrorize the world.
Israel launches major offensive against Hezbollah.
The airstrikes mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has long been a security threat to the region. Reports have also revealed how Israel planned a series of attacks to eliminate Hezbollah's top leaders and create a leadership vacuum in the Iran-backed group.
Hezbollah, Lebanon's most powerful military and political force, is now struggling to recover from a serious setback, having lost key members who have been part of Hezbollah since its founding in the early 1980s.
The bloody conflict began with the attack on 7 October
Israeli attacks have intensified after Hezbollah began supporting Hamas. Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October 2023, resulting in the deaths of 1,205 people, most of them civilians.
Hamas took more than 250 civilians hostage, 97 of whom are still held in Gaza, 33 of whom the Israeli military says are dead. Israel's retaliatory military strikes have killed at least 41,595 people in Gaza, most of them civilians.
