Ukraine has suffered heavy losses in the ongoing war with Russia. On Thursday, Ukraine informed that one of the F-16 fighter planes received from Western allies to fight Russia had crashed. According to CNN's report, along with the crash of the F-16, a top Ukrainian pilot has also died. This incident is being considered a big setback for Ukrainian President Zelensky. 

F-16 crashes in Russian drone attack

The Ukrainian Air Force reported the incident on Thursday. A military statement posted on Facebook said the fighter jet crashed on Monday when Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said F-16s shot down some Russian missiles and drones before they reached their targets. 

Ukraine also suffered heavy losses in Kursk

Ukraine has claimed that its troops have taken control of about 1,300 square kilometers (500 square miles) of territory in Russia's Kursk region. At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that Ukraine had suffered heavy losses in Kursk. It said that about 6,600 soldiers were killed or injured and more than 70 tanks and many armored vehicles were destroyed. These figures could not be independently confirmed. Meanwhile, officials in Russia said that four Ukrainian missiles were shot down in the Kursk region. 

In this war, Russia is continuously making deadly attacks on Ukraine. On the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, Russia targeted the entire Ukraine with missiles and drones, and many people were killed. Russia targeted Ukraine's power plants. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned these attacks by Russia.
