Reports indicate that three empty buses in Tel Aviv were targeted simultaneously, while explosive devices were discovered in two additional buses. Light Rail Service Suspended in Tel Aviv
Bomb disposal teams were deployed to neutralize any remaining threats. Tel Aviv district commander Haim Sargarov stated in a press briefing that security forces had been stationed at multiple locations to prevent further incidents. According to him, the explosive devices were identical and contained timers. As a precautionary measure, light rail services in Tel Aviv were temporarily suspended while security forces conducted a thorough search for additional explosives. The Transport Ministry also ordered a nationwide halt of public transportation, instructing bus drivers and train operators to conduct security checks before resuming service.
Israeli Authorities Investigate the Explosions
In response to the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to launch an extensive operation against suspected terrorist hubs. The IDF, in collaboration with the Shin Bet security agency and the Israel Police, has initiated an investigation into the bus bombings in Bat Yam and Holon. Additionally, the army confirmed that its counter-terrorism operations in the West Bank would persist, with a focus on key areas based on intelligence gathered from the ongoing investigation.
