
The Russian military carried out a deadly nighttime missile strike on Kiev following the United States’ decision to halt military aid to Ukraine. The attack, which targeted the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to many others. A ballistic missile struck a hotel in Kiev, marking one of the most severe attacks since tensions escalated between Ukraine and Russia.
Casualties and Damage from the Attack
The missile strike caused extensive destruction, with rescue teams working to assess the full scale of the damage. Many of the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Ukrainian officials described this as one of the most devastating assaults on the capital in recent months.
Zelensky's Response to the Attack
In response to the attack, President Zelensky revealed that volunteers from a humanitarian organization, including Ukrainian, American, and British citizens, were inside the targeted hotel in Krivi Rih, a city in central Ukraine. However, he did not confirm whether any of them were among the 31 reported injured.
Massive Missile Strike Across Ukraine
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched a total of 112 Shahed drones and two Iskander ballistic missiles in overnight strikes across Ukraine. The widespread missile assault has further escalated tensions in the ongoing conflict.
