Lalu Prasad Yadav Angioplasty: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav underwent angioplasty at a Mumbai hospital. Giving this information on Thursday, sources said that Lalu Yadav was admitted to Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute Hospital (AHI) on September 10 and his angioplasty was done on Wednesday. Lalu Yadav was re-admitted to the Asian Heart Institute for angioplasty under the supervision of Dr. Santosh Dora and Dr. Tilak Suvarna, earlier he was admitted to the same hospital in 2014.
Lalu Yadav, the former Union Railway Minister, had undergone surgery to replace his aortic valve in this hospital 10 years ago. The surgery lasted for about 6 hours. After angioplasty, 76-year-old Lalu Yadav is expected to be discharged from the hospital in two days.

Angioplasty is a surgical procedure in which the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart muscles are opened by specialist doctors. In the language of medical science, these blood vessels are called coronary arteries. Doctors often have to perform angioplasty on patients after problems like heart attack or stroke.
