In Pakistan, militants launched an attack on Jaffar Express train, which is a passenger train. The terrorist attack is said to have killed 6 Pakistani soldiers, and the train driver is said to be injured. A government representative, Shahid Rind, said on Dawn News that the attack took place in the Bolan district as the Jaffar Express train was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. The nine-coach Jaffar Express train is said to have had approximately 500 passengers aboard. The security forces present on the train responded to the attack by shooting back.

Attempting to Reach the Passengers

On Tuesday, the government in the Pakistani province of Balochistan instructed officials to implement what they are calling 'emergency strategies' for the region. Armed members of the Baloch Liberation Army have hijacked the Jaffar Express train at tunnel number 8. There is an attempt to reach out to the staff and passengers. According to the provincial government, there is an emergency alert at Sibi Hospital, and security services, along with ambulances, are en route to the given location.

Rind stated that because of the rough land, the officials are having trouble getting to the site. In the latter, it was noted that the department of railways has dispatched additional trains to the location in assistance. The magnitude of damage as well as possible involvement of terrorist elements are being determined.
