Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has reiterated that Afghan territory is being used by terrorists to target Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference at the Governor House in Peshawar, Kundi said Pakistan has repeatedly raised the issue with the Afghan government, but no effective response has been received.

He added that weapons left behind by the US in Afghanistan are now in the hands of terrorist groups, posing a serious threat to Pakistan’s national security.

Pakistan-Afghanistan Talks Fail to Yield Concrete Outcomes

Governor Kundi's statement came as officials from Pakistan and Afghanistan met in Kabul for talks aimed at addressing rising tensions over terrorism, trade, and refugee repatriation. Despite earlier diplomatic outreach — including a visit by JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman to Afghanistan — no actionable measures were taken by the Afghan side, Kundi noted.

Illegal Afghan Nationals Being Repatriated

Meanwhile, Pakistan continues its repatriation drive targeting undocumented Afghan citizens. As of March 20, over 874,282 Afghan nationals have been sent back. The government has issued a March 31 deadline for all illegal residents and Afghan Citizen Card holders to leave the country.

The repatriation is part of Pakistan’s broader national security strategy, which links unregulated migration to increased risks of terrorism.
