Imran's party threatens to protest.
Authorities have banned all forms of political gatherings and protests. However, tension prevails due to the threat of protests by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). PTI has announced that it will protest at D-Chowk if party leaders and others are not allowed to meet Khan.
The authorities have warned of strict action against the protesters, although behind-the-scenes efforts are being made to persuade the party to call off its protest. Sources said the government may allow party president Gauhar Khan and a team of lawyers to meet Imran Khan to meet PTI's demand to cancel the protest.
