Amid the assembly election activities in Maharashtra, former state home minister and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh has been attacked. According to the information received, his car was pelted with stones in Nagpur, in which Deshmukh was seriously injured. A police officer said that the incident took place when Anil Deshmukh was returning to Katol at around 8 pm after attending a public meeting in Narkhed village.
According to the police, some unidentified persons pelted stones at Anil Deshmukh's car near Belphata on Jalalkheda Road near Katol. In which he got injured and was immediately taken to Katol Civil Hospital.

.Nagpur Superintendent of Police (Rural) Harsh Poddar confirmed the incident and said that officers have been sent to the spot. He said, the investigation had started. Police are trying to identify those responsible for the attack. This incident happened on the last day of campaigning for the assembly elections to be held on November 20 in Maharashtra.

Navneet Rana was attacked a day before
Earlier, BJP leader and former MP Navneet Rana and her supporters were allegedly attacked by some people while attending a public meeting in Amravati district. In this connection, the police have registered an FIR against 45 people and detained three of them.
Amravati (rural) superintendent of police Vishal Anand said, Rana had reached a public meeting with her supporters at around 10 pm. Then some people from the crowd allegedly used objectionable words and made indecent gestures. After this, her supporters clashed with the accused present in the crowd and chairs were thrown at the BJP leader and her companions.
