Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: Political parties have now started opening their cards regarding the Maharashtra assembly elections. After the announcement of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) candidates last Tuesday, now Uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena UBT has released its first list of 65 candidates. The party has fielded Rajan Vichare from the Thane assembly seat, while Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray has got a ticket from the Worli assembly seat in Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray's name is not on the list, which has put Shiv Sena UBT in a dilemma regarding its plan. Meanwhile, the seat sharing took place in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Wednesday morning for the Maharashtra assembly elections. There is an agreement between the Uddhav faction, Sharad Pawar faction and Congress to contest on 85-85 seats.
Consensus reached on 270 seats.
After the seat sharing in the MVA alliance, Shiv Sena UBT announced the names of its 65 candidates on Wednesday evening. The first name in the list is that of Unmesh Patil, who has got a ticket from Chalisgaon. The second is Vaishali Suryavanshi, who has been fielded from Pachora assembly seat. It is worth noting that after the announcement of elections on 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, political parties have started announcing the names of their candidates. Soon Congress and NCP can also unveil the names of their candidates. However, according to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, so far only 270 seats have been agreed upon in the MVA alliance, the names of candidates for the other 18 seats can also be announced soon.
