Maharashtra Jharkhand Chunav Results 2024 LIVE: The results of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections are being released today i.e. on Saturday. The counting of votes is going on. In Maharashtra, all eyes are on the result of the contest between the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) trying to return to power.
The final voter turnout in the November 20 elections was 66.05 percent, while in 2019 this figure was 61.1 percent. Counting of votes will also take place for the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election, where 67.81 percent voting took place on November 20. A total of 288 counting centers have been set up for the counting of votes on Saturday, including one center for the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election.
In the Mahayuti alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party fielded candidates in 149 assembly seats, Shiv Sena in 81 seats,, and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 59 constituencies. In the opposition MVA alliance, the Congress fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (Ubatha) 95 and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) 86 candidates.
At the same time, the results in Jharkhand will decide whether the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the next government in Jharkhand or the JMM-led alliance will once again capture power. This time the voting record reached 67.74 percent, which is the highest since the formation of the state on 15 November 2000. Elections in the state were held in two phases on 13 and 20 November. Out of a total of 81 seats, voting took place in 43 constituencies in the first phase, while voting took place on 38 seats in the second phase. Read every live update here.
