Lalu Yadav's statement and Nitish's reaction
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday gave a cryptic response to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's 'doors are open' statement on rejoining the opposition All India Front. When CM Nitish was questioned about Lalu Yadav's statement, the Bihar Chief Minister folded his hands, smiled and without saying much said, 'What are you saying? Leave all this aside'. Lalu Yadav had said, 'Our doors are open for Nitish Kumar. He should also open his doors. This will facilitate the movement of people from both sides.'
Twice a decade alliance
After Lalu Yadav's statement, speculation has intensified about the possibility of another alliance between the two veteran leaders in Bihar, who are often referred to as 'big brother, little brother' in Bihar's political circles. It is worth noting that Lalu Yadav's offer to Nitish Kumar is a reminder of the history of old alliances between the two leaders. Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar has allied with the RJD twice in the last decade, most recently Nitish Kumar once again left Lalu Yadav by rejoining the BJP-led NDA in 2024.
