Assembly Elections: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday claimed that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has deliberately kept silent on the tragic death of his mother and sister in the Razakars' attack because he is afraid of losing Muslim votes. Just a few days ago, Kharge had criticized Yogi Adityanath for wearing saffron clothes and the slogan 'Bantenge to Katenge'. Yogi Adityanath today strongly retorted to Kharge in an election rally in Amravati.

Allegations of Vote Bank Politics

He accused Congress veteran Kharge of suppressing his painful personal memories for political gain. Yogi Adityanath alleged that the Congress ignores historical atrocities for the sake of vote bank politics. He said that Kharge conveniently forgot the history of Razakars during the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad despite suffering personal loss. He claimed, '(Mallikarjun) Kharge's village was set on fire by Razakars and his mother, sister and a relative were killed in that attack.'

CM Yogi said this about Kharge.

Yogi Adityanath alleged that Kharge was suppressing this fact because he feared that if he spoke about the atrocities committed by the Nizam's army, he would lose Muslim votes. He said, 'Congress is trying to deny history and Kharge has conveniently forgotten what happened to his family for vote bank politics.' Razakars were a paramilitary force serving in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. Its primary objective was to maintain the rule of the Muslim Nizams of Hyderabad and prevent Hyderabad from merging with India.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh made this allegation.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister alleged that the historical leadership of the Congress compromised with the Indian Muslim League in 1946, which led to the partition of India and the killing of Hindus. He said, 'During the freedom movement, when the Nizam realized that he could not remain independent, he started killing Hindus.' He claimed that BR Ambedkar had advised Hindus and Scheduled Castes to move to Maharashtra (from the Nizam-ruled area) for their safety. Yogi Adityanath also warned against division within the country.

'Love Jihad in Maharashtra'

Claiming that there is a "rise of love jihad and land jihad in Maharashtra" and blaming the previous Congress governments for it, he said, "If you remain divided, your daughters will be unsafe, temples will be attacked and communities will be targeted. This is the reality that this is what happens when you are not united." In an election rally, Kharge had indirectly attacked Adityanath, saying, "Many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and now they have become leaders." Kharge had said, "On one hand you wear saffron clothes and on the other hand you say that if you are divided, you will be cut. I will tell the BJP to either wear white clothes or if you are a sanyasi, wear saffron clothes, but then stay out of politics."
