Baramulla: A truck driver was reportedly shot dead on the alleged orders of the army in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on the border. Malla was a resident of Sopore Goripora and was driving towards Srinagar from Baramulla when he was halted by the army in Delina check post of north Kashmir district.

As per the Version of the Army that was shared on Thursday, we have information regarding the terrorist activities from Wednesday and so set a MVCP (mobile vehicle checkpost) in Delina region. The civilian truck, which had windows fully raised and speed at maximum, was asked to on the vehicle but the operator, for reasons unknown, disregarded the orders and stepped on the gas as he approached the checkpoint, it explained.

""We pursued the vehicles for more than 23 kilometers and fired aimed shots at the tires which resulted in the vehicle coming to a stop at Sangrama Chowk," it said.

The police sent the truck for a thorough investigation to the nearest police station. The army also mentioned, sifting through the suspects is currently being done.”\n\n“An official from J&K stated, \"The truck driver’s remains is being examined in the hopes of revealing the cause of death.\"\n\nThe J&K police issued statement, along with their spokesperson claiming they had gotten tip off that an army Rashtriya Rifles Party had set up a MVCP to catch any possible threats.
