
On Sunday, a medical helicopter crashed into the sea in the southwestern region of Japan. The aircraft, which was transporting a patient, had six people on board when it suddenly went down near Nagasaki. Out of the six, three individuals are currently missing. The Japan Coast Guard is actively searching for them.
Onboard Crew Included Medical and Technical Personnel
According to the Coast Guard, the helicopter was carrying a patient along with a doctor, a nurse, the pilot, a mechanic, and a caretaker. Following the accident, three people were rescued from the water. They were found suffering from hypothermia but remained conscious and were taken for medical care. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.
Rescue Operations Continue With Multiple Units Deployed
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. In response, the Japan Coast Guard deployed two aircraft and three ships to the site for search and rescue operations. The helicopter was en route from an airport in Nagasaki to a hospital in Fukuoka when the incident occurred.
