Symptoms of Cancer: Cancer is a deadly disease that affects every other person in today's times. Cancer can occur in any part of the body. Its initial symptom appears in the form of a lump. It is common to see a lump in any part of the body. But this lump can become fatal over time. Seeing a lump in the thigh, throat, leg or back can be very painful. Its growth over time can be a sign of cancer.
Many times there is a lump in the body that appears red in color. In medical terms, such a tumor is known as hemangioma, angioma, venous malformation, or aneurysm. It is also commonly called a vascular tumor.
What is a vascular tumor?
Vascular tumors are tumors that form from abnormal blood or lymph vessels. They can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous). These abnormal growths from blood vessels can affect many parts of the body. These tumors develop due to factors such as trauma, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Most vascular tumors are congenital, which means they are present from birth. These tumors form due to a birth defect in the walls of blood vessels. These tumors are small in children, but they can grow in size with age. Vascular tumors can also be caused by injury or accident. Injury damages blood vessels, weakening their walls. When blood pressure cannot withstand, a part of the wall of the blood vessel swells and forms a tumor. Increased cholesterol can cause fat to accumulate in blood vessels, weakening them and increasing the chances of tumor formation.
How to identify a tumor
- Feeling any lump on the arm, leg or back could be a sign of a tumor.
- Increasing swelling in the arm, thigh, or leg a few months after a serious injury could be a sign of an aneurysm.
- Pain in the stomach, chest, or back of patients suffering from diabetes or high cholesterol is a sign that a tumor of the blood vessel i.e. aneurysm has started to develop. Such a tumor also appears in the neck.
