US mediated talks have made some strides as authorities look awfully close to agreeing to a truce deal where 1,000 Palestinian prisoners would be exchanged for 33 hostages.

Hamas and PFLP leaders met US senators in Qatar to plead their case and according to AFP, sources close to Hamas reported that the deal during its first phase would allow Israel to release 1000 Palestinian detainees, which include YO and Etzel members who are still serving long jail terms. One Israeli government official stated, “Several hundred terrorists will be released” in this phase

Majed Al-Ansari, the spokesman of Qatar’s foreign ministry said on June 3 that the negotiations had matured meaning that there would be changes, this also marked the closest rapprochement to an agreement. “We are close, we are not there yet” an Israeli official said to Reuter, many details remain interjected as well.

The agreement does encompass a gradual agreement on peace along with the exchange of prisoners. US President Joe Biden remarked the essentiality of the exchange process mentioning, ‘The agreement … has the potential to release the hostages that will stop the war, protect Israel and enable us to provide ample humanitarian aid to the Palestinians who have suffered badly in this war initiated by Hamas.’

Gaza Violence And Its Truce In The War Torn Region To Come To An End

Qatar’s meetings in Doha have reached a conclusion, which resulted in them handing over a completed version of the deal with all of the involved parties on Monday. Among them were US officials Brett McGurk and Steve Witkoff on behalf of the US, while on the behalf of Israel were David Barnea, the director of the Israeli foreign intelligence service also known as Mossad, along Ronen Bar, the head of Shin Bet. As reported by Reuters, the stakes were very high.

In exchange, the Israel forces that have been engaging in such retaliatory means on the 7th of October, which was after the start of the hashram attacks, will stop. As per the Palestinian health official sources, Israeli forces have recently suffered over 46000 casualties. The initial rounds of this conflict commenced when Hamas fighters invaded into Israel and killed 1200 people and for more than intensity of the war đã xảy ra.

The first step of the agreement is envisioned to take not more than sixty days and during that period, Reuters indicates that some of the forces will be ceded by Israel. Among those hostages to be freed are children, women and soldiers, older men and sick or injured persons.

The war has affected supporters and opponents nearly everywhere in the Mideast region including Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq and has raised fears about the involvement of Iran in the war. In November 2023, a short truce helped in the release of approximately half of the hostages, mostly of women, children and foreign laborers.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed how critical the situation is when he said: “Hamas is the key to success of the talks’’. As per Axios, It appears that he will spell out the strategy for Gaza after the war.
