Maharashtra New CM: A new government has been formed 13 days after the Maharashtra election results. Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of the state on Thursday (5 December). Fadnavis has become CM for the third time in 10 years. He held his first press conference after becoming the Chief Minister. During this, he expressed his gratitude to the public and assured that every decision of the government would be in the interest of the people and the state.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, 'In the last 2.5 years we have worked for the development of Maharashtra and from here too we will work for the development of Maharashtra and we will not stop now, the direction and speed are the same, only our roles have changed. We will make decisions for the welfare of Maharashtra, we want to complete the tasks that we have mentioned in our manifesto.'

'There was no delay in forming the government…'

Fadnavis further said, ‘I do not believe that there has been so much delay in forming the government. Even before this, in 2004, there was a delay of about 12-13 days. In 2009 too, there was a delay of about 9 days. We have to understand that when there is a coalition government, many decisions have to be taken on a very large scale as the portfolios have been finalized, well, there are some remaining, we will do that too.’

He further said, 'Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar are with me. People want a stable government, so they have chosen us and we will stay and work together. We will continue the 'Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana'. The Maharashtra Assembly Speaker will be elected soon as the cabinet has decided to hold a special session on December 7-8, and the Governor will deliver the address on December 9.'
