Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is once again in the headlines—this time over a viral claim by influencer Ashley St. Clair, who alleges that Musk fathered her child. Despite uncertainty over paternity, Musk has admitted to providing significant financial support.
Musk Admits Uncertainty, Still Provides Financial Support
On March 31, Musk wrote on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I am not against finding out—no court order is needed.” He went on to say that despite not knowing her current address, he has transferred $2.5 million (approx. ₹21 crore) to St. Clair and sends her an additional $500,000 (approx. ₹4 crore) annually.
Controversy Sparked by Laura Loomer’s Video
The statement was in response to right-wing activist Laura Loomer’s video, which accused Musk of cutting financial support for his alleged son. Musk dismissed the allegations, reiterating that payments have not only continued but were made voluntarily.
Who Is Ashley St. Clair?
Ashley St. Clair, a conservative social media influencer, stirred online buzz when she claimed on February 14, 2025, that she had given birth to Musk’s 13th child. In her post, she stated, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new child into the world. Elon Musk is his father.” She added that she chose to keep the matter private initially for the safety and privacy of her child.
Musk’s Growing Family and Ongoing Public Scrutiny
Elon Musk is reportedly the father of 14 children, many of whom were born to different partners over the years. His personal life frequently intersects with public and political narratives, especially with his roles at Tesla, SpaceX, and increasing involvement in U.S. policy discussions. Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump entrusted him with a major responsibility, further intensifying scrutiny of Musk’s personal conduct.
