Delhi air pollution: These days, Delhi's air is full of poison, and if you step out for a little while, you feel suffocated. In some areas of Delhi, the AQI has reached 506, 473, 472, 471. It has become difficult for people to breathe in such poisonous air. The city is wrapped in a blanket of smog, due to which pollution is entering the body from everywhere, eyes, nose, ears. The AQI is above four hundred and fifty in about 14 areas of the capital. Talking about Jahangirpuri, the AQI had crossed 500 yesterday morning. Many reasons are being held responsible for this, some are blaming stubble, some are blaming the smoke coming out of vehicles and some are blaming Diwali crackers.

Now whatever may be the reason for this pollution, but everyone is forced to breathe in this poisonous air. This poisonous air is not only affecting our respiratory system and lungs but also the heart, liver, and kidneys are getting affected by it and even after treatment, its effect remains on the body for a long time. Even a normal cough takes 10 to 15 days to get cured. Cases of cough-cold and sore throat are there in every house. Continuous breathing in poisonous air has also started causing fatal autoimmune diseases like arthritis. Respiratory patients in hospitals have increased by 30 percent. Children of pregnant women breathing in bad air are getting sick in the womb itself.

 

Rising pollution also impacts the weight of newborn babies, leading to low birth weight. 16% of miscarriages are attributed to breathing in nitrous oxide, a study by the science journal Lancet shows that about 17 lakh people die in India due to air pollution, while according to WHO, 70 lakh people die every year worldwide due to bad air.
