New Delhi: Early trends of the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 results show the Prime Minister of India and his party BJP leading by a significant margin. Social activist Anna Hazare took this opportunity to criticise Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the opposition AAP, on his party’s controversies such as the liquor policy in which the party seeks to deal with the downfall of the party.

Hazare attributed AAP’s defeat to not being able to concentrate on the ‘character’ of the politician. He stated that the party got tangled in liquor and money which was a direct consequence to the support being eroded in Kejriwal’s image.

Candidate's speeches need to be free of any fabricated lies and filled with nothing but pure and honesty. “While AAP speaks on character, it got to do with liquor which has dented the image of Kejriwal,” he said. The can put on themselves to try and prove their innocence, but they will remain guilty, “The truth will remain the truth” as I like to say.

As per Election commission of India (ECI) trends from this election at 1 PM, the prime minister’s party remained in the lead with 47 and shifted to 56 seats while AAP remained in the lead in 23. In New Delhi, Kejriwal remained behind by BJP’s Parvesh Verma. Hazare said the introduction of liquor with a relish of ‘buy 1 get 1 free’ directly damaged his image. The BVJP accuses AAP of lacing the capital with booze turning it into a 'city of drunkards.

Having pulled away from AAP due to perceived blunders, Hazare cautions that the trajectory that Kejriwal paints with self-indulgence, is bound to spell doom for the party.
