These days, incidents of cyber crime are increasing in Bihar. However, the police is constantly trying to curb the incidents of cyber crime. Meanwhile, a student of Computer Science Engineering has been arrested on charges of cyber fraud from Chhatauni police station area of East Champaran district of Bihar.
According to the police, based on secret information, the police arrested Harsh Kumar from Bariyarpur of Chhatauni police station on charges of online fraud. He is a resident of Majhauliya in West Champaran district and was living here. A police officer said on Wednesday that the arrested youth is a student of Computer Science Engineering, who used to commit fraud through many means.
How did the engineering student commit fraud?
It was told that he mainly used to cheat people by making fake advertisements on Telegram for the goods seized by the customs and by giving the lure of prepaid orders. When some time passed and people asked about the delivery of the order, he used to demand more money in the name of payment failure or GST.
The arrested youth is also accused of creating a group for downloading pirated movies on Telegram and sending APKs with Trojan virus through it and committing fraud by hacking people's mobiles. To avoid getting caught, he used to get the fraud money through scanners of shops and other businessmen. In this sequence, when a complaint was lodged, the accounts of the said businessmen were also frozen.
Motihari Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat said that a Realme Android mobile has been recovered from the arrested student which has all the Telegram groups created by the accused. The second recovered Vivo mobile has been found to be infected with a Trojan virus. Three SIM cards used in committing a total of five fraud cases have also been recovered.
