In a deeply disturbing incident from the United States, a 76-year-old woman was mauled to death by her daughter’s pet dogs in Colorado. Authorities have arrested the daughter, who is accused of gross negligence in the case.

According to a report by The Sun, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office confirmed that 47-year-old Jessica Hoff was taken into custody following the death of her mother, Lavon Hoff, in early February. Investigations point to severe neglect on Jessica’s part, which contributed to the tragic event.

On February 3, Jessica reportedly left her mother alone at their home in Colorado City despite knowing that Lavon suffered from dementia—a condition that impairs memory and cognitive functions. Her inability to care for herself made leaving her unattended especially dangerous.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Lavon Hoff unconscious, with multiple dogs roaming around her. The investigation revealed a shocking number of animals in the house—along with the free-roaming dogs, authorities found two dozen more dogs and seven caged birds.

Upon further searching another property owned by Jessica Hoff, law enforcement discovered an additional 54 dogs, many of which were in poor health and visibly neglected.

Jessica Hoff’s passion for keeping pets appears to have turned into a case of animal hoarding, resulting in devastating consequences. She now faces serious legal charges as the investigation continues.
