The chilly winds and light rain have once again made their presence felt across Delhi and the entire NCR region. Continuous rainfall and heavy snowfall in the hilly areas have triggered a sudden shift in weather conditions, making the plains feel the brunt of the cold. As a result, Delhi and its neighboring areas are experiencing a mix of light drizzles and cold gusts of wind, signaling a noticeable dip in temperature.

Cloudy Skies and Rainfall Recorded in Delhi-NCR

As per the Meteorological Department, the skies over Delhi-NCR remained overcast on March 3, accompanied by light rain throughout the region. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 17°C, while the maximum temperature hovered around 28°C. The impact of snowfall in the northern mountains is now visibly influencing the weather in the capital, making mornings and evenings significantly cooler.

Strong Winds Expected in the Coming Days

Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department has predicted a further drop in temperature from March 4. The minimum temperature is expected to decline, while the maximum temperature is likely to stay around 27°C. Additionally, strong winds are forecasted over the next couple of days, along with the possibility of light fog in the morning hours.

On March 5, the weather is expected to remain slightly warmer during the day, with a maximum temperature of 29°C, whereas the minimum could drop to 14°C. However, by March 6, another shift in weather patterns is likely, bringing colder temperatures and stronger winds, which may add to the winter-like feel.

Impact of Heavy Snowfall in Northern Hills

The recent spell of heavy snowfall in the higher altitudes of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand is directly affecting the weather in the plains. Given Delhi-NCR’s proximity to these northern states, the cold winds descending from the hills are intensifying the chill in the region. Local residents are experiencing a significant dip in temperatures, especially during the early morning and late evening hours.

Unstable Weather to Continue Throughout the Week

The weather in the entire NCR region is expected to remain unpredictable throughout the week. While intermittent light rain and drizzles may persist, strong winds and fog are also anticipated. According to the weather department, March 6 and 7 are likely to witness light fog, and slight fluctuations in temperature may continue.
