Officials said that 12578 Mysore-Darbhanga Express collided with a freight train at Kavaraipettai at 8:50 pm and rescue teams and ambulances have been rushed to the spot. A rescue team from Chennai Central Station has also reached the spot and a team of doctors is also present at the spot. Also, officials like the General Manager (Southern Railway), Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), and senior officials have left for the spot.
