Cold has knocked on the door of the entire North India. In such a situation, people find ways to avoid the cold in their own way. Room heaters are also used extensively to avoid the cold, but it is necessary to take special care while using it.

There is a need to be careful because this heater which protects us from cold can also cause harm. It gives us relief from cold but if care is not taken while using it, it can prove to be fatal. Neurologists and dermatologists also talk about the harm it causes to the body.

Difficulty in breathing-

If a heater is run in a closed room, it reduces the level of oxygen in the air. In such a situation, a person may have difficulty breathing. Along with this, there may also be a risk of fire. Asthma or respiratory patients especially need to avoid this. Constant exposure to a room heater can cause skin and eye problems.

According to neurologists, both blower and heater are not safe for the brain. Neurologist Dr. Saurabh Yatish Bansal explains the reason for this. He says, it increases the level of carbon monoxide in the room. Due to this, there is a lack of blood in the brain. As a result, the chances of internal bleeding or brain hemorrhage increase, hence it is better to use them in winters only after careful consideration.

At the same time, it also has an adverse effect on the skin. Dr. Sonal Bansal, Senior Consultant, Department of Dermatology, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, said, "The hot and dry air of the blower and room heater damages the skin. Its heat can burn your skin. You may have to face problems like itching. Actually, heaters and blowers take away the moisture from the skin. This can make your skin dry and lifeless. It is also not safe for hair. If you sit in front of it for a long time, then the skin of the head also gets damaged. This can also cause your hair to fall."

Do not keep the heater on all night

If you use it, then you need to take many precautions. For this, try not to keep the heater on all night. If you have to do this, then make sure that the room is not closed. Along with this, try to set the room heater to a safe and correct temperature. This will keep the oxygen level in the air correct.

Along with this, keep in mind that the heater should be serviced from time to time. There is also a risk of fire from the fan heater. In such a situation, keep in mind that the heater should be kept in such a place in the house that there is no risk of fire. Along with this, keep in mind that children should be kept away from the reach of the heater.
