Bahraich Violence: After the violence and arson in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, a large number of police have been deployed. The Internet has been banned in the violence-hit area. Also, SSP and SP rank officers have been deployed in the field. Seeing the crowd and violence, ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash was also seen taking charge at the spot. Amitabh Yash himself was seen chasing away the crowd with a pistol. On Monday, protesters set fire to several properties including a two-wheeler showroom. When the protesters resorted to violence, the police lathi-charged and fired tear gas shells. The violence started when a person was killed in a clash during the Durga idol immersion procession in the Mahsi area of Hardi police station in Bahraich.
What is the whole matter?
The clashes started on Sunday evening when some locals allegedly asked to stop the music when the Durga idol procession passed through the Muslim area. After a heated argument, the two groups clashed and pelted stones, police said. The situation worsened when shots were allegedly fired and a local youth, Ram Gopal Mishra, was shot, police said. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Some people were also injured in the violence.
Deployment of police at every nook and corner
Bahraich Superintendent of Police Vrinda Shukla said, that when the procession was passing through a Muslim-dominated area, a person from another community was attacked, due to which he died. After the incident, the police have detained about 30 people. She said that adequate police force has been deployed in the area and strict action will be taken against the anarchic elements by looking at the CCTV footage of the violence-affected area.

BJP MLA from Mahsi constituency Sureshwar Singh said, ‘We are preparing for the last rites of the deceased. He got married just four months ago. The family of the deceased demands that a case be registered against the accused and they be arrested and the SHO and the in-charge of the police post be suspended.’
'The culprits will not be spared'
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned the violence and said that the culprits will not be spared. CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted, 'Those who spoil the atmosphere in Mahsi of Bahraich district will not be spared. Security is guaranteed to all, but strict action has been directed to identify the miscreants and those whose negligence has led to the incident. Idol immersion will continue. Administration and police officials have been directed to be present on the spot and communicate with religious organizations to ensure idol immersion on time.
What is in the complaint of the deceased's brother?
In his complaint to the police, the deceased's brother Harimilan said that on October 13, his brother Ram Gopal had gone to Maharajganj to see the idol immersion. Four unknown people were sitting in front of Abdul Hamid's house. They caught hold of brother Ram Gopal and dragged him into the house and after stabbing him with a sword several times, shot him. This led to his death. On the complaint of the deceased's brother, the police have registered a case against 10 people. In this case, SP Vrinda Shukla has suspended the SHO and outpost in charge of the local police station with immediate effect on charges of negligence.
