Delhi Assembly Elections 2024: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi, tensions between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are deepening. The Aam Aadmi Party has made a serious allegation against the BJP of conspiring to remove names from the voter list. On Wednesday, AAP met the Election Commission and presented 'evidence' on this issue. The party claims that the names of voters from the poor, Scheduled Castes and Dalit community are being removed from the list. AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the party has submitted a 3000-page document to the Election Commission, in which an attempt has been made to show how the BJP has conspired to remove the names of Delhi voters.

Names of 11,000 people were removed!

After the AAP delegation met the Election Commission, Arvind Kejriwal said, 'A BJP member in Shahdara area has deleted the votes of 11,000 people. We have requested the Commission to stop such large-scale name deletion process.' He also demanded that an FIR be registered against the culprits. The Election Commission has assured the AAP that no mass deletion will be done before the elections. Apart from this, the Commission said that cases of deletion of voters' names will be investigated at the booth level.

AAP's allegation on BJP

In this, the regional officer (BLO) will take stock of the situation along with the representatives of various political parties. This will ensure that no voter is treated unfairly. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia alleged in a press conference that the BJP has submitted a large number of applications to remove names from the voter list. He said, 'When it has become impossible for the BJP to defeat Arvind Kejriwal, now they are trying to win the election by cutting votes.' Sisodia also claimed that the BJP has also tried to remove the names of those who have been living in their area for a long time.

The political atmosphere heated up

The Aam Aadmi Party is aiming to come to power for the third consecutive time, and is accusing the BJP of trying to influence the elections. At the same time, the BJP has described these allegations as politically motivated. Due to this controversy, the political atmosphere of Delhi is heated, and the pressure on the Election Commission to maintain impartiality has increased. In the coming days, it will be interesting to see what impact this issue has on the elections and how the Election Commission handles this situation.
