Baba Saheb Ambedkar: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his remarks on Baba Saheb Ambedkar in Parliament. Kejriwal said that Ambedkar is no less than God for modern India. He raised the question that why do BJP leaders repeatedly express their hatred towards Baba Saheb. During the discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah had said that 'Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar… if you took the name of God so much, you would have got heaven for seven lives.' Opposition parties reacted sharply to this comment. However, Shah clarified his statement and accused it of being presented in a distorted manner.
Kejriwal hits back
Arvind Kejriwal said during his visit to Lord Valmiki temple that this statement is extremely insulting. He claimed that this statement is not only an insult to Baba Saheb, but also shows the mentality of BJP. He said, 'Those who love Baba Saheb should deny BJP.' Kejriwal called it a deliberate statement by Shah, which also got the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh are the biggest role models
Kejriwal said that Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh are the biggest ideals for his party. Delhi and Punjab governments have been ordered to put pictures of these two leaders in every office. Along with this, the cost of education of poor children is being borne by implementing 'Jai Bhim Yojana' in Delhi. He said that his party is committed to carry forward the ideas of Baba Saheb.
Serious allegations against BJP
Kejriwal accused the BJP of insulting Baba Saheb and suppressing his views. He said that Shah's comment clearly sends a message that the BJP's inclination is contrary to Baba Saheb's views. Kejriwal called upon the people to support Ambedkar's ideals and reject the BJP. This controversy has not only created heat in political circles, but has also shaken people's sentiments towards Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The opposition is now demanding an apology from the BJP.
