Furthermore, Mr. Sharad Pawar, the Chief of the NCP (SP) has come in support with AAP, alongside the thoughts of Aam Aadmi Party that the elections held for Lok Sabha was the only election between the INDIA alliance partners’.

Sharad Pawar's NCP is the third party in the opposition alliance, after Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party and Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, to offer support to Kejriwal over Congress in Delhi elections.

When speaking about the future of the INDIA Bloc, Sharad Pawar emphasized, “There have been no debates regarding State or Local Elections within the INDIA alliance. The INDIA alliance is strictly limited to national elections only.”

Pawar’s remarks were issued in the wake of speculation in the INDIA alliance over AAP and Congress’s solo efforts in the Delhi elections with several leaders in the alliance suggesting its disbanding. Over in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has also declared to contest the local body polls independently.

In reference to the local elections in Maharashtra, NCP (Sp) Chief Sharad Pawar explained “There has never been any discussion about state and local body elections within the framework of the INDIA alliance. Everyone will meet and take a decision (about local body elections) in 10 days.”

Above all, last week, when Kejriwal Khali pledged that the Trinamool Congress would help the AAP in the elections to the Delhi Assembly. In December, the AAP received the endorsement of Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party head and MP from Kannauj, during the elections in Delhi.

The Delhi Polls will be held on February 5; counting for votes will take place on February 8. AAP is vying for its third consecutive term having won a mammoth 62 out of 70 parliamentary seats in the previous Delhi elections in 2020.
