Two women pilgrims were died on the spot and 16 other women were injured when three buses ferrying them, which had gone to Maha Kumbh in Prayagarsh in Allahabad, hit a divider at Dausa in Rajasthan on Wednesday. The accident that claimed 11 lives occurred at an early morning at Pipalkheda village in Balahedi police station area. Among the affected people, more than a half of them were women who were first treated and then moved to District Hospital in Dausa.

The three buses, as confirmed by the police in-charge of the station, Bhagwan Sahay, the devotees have been coming from Prayagraj after taking a dip in the Maha Kumbh. One day in National Highway-21 there was a stop at Pipalkheda village of Dausa; suddenly a bull came to the middle of the road. It was unfortunate that after reckless driving, the driver crashed the bus into a divider before overturning on the highway.

At the time of this accident, a majority of the passengers were asleep most likely on the moving bus. Screaming and rolling on the ground the passengers of the bus which overturned in the accident, people living in nearby villages reached the spot and they fished out the passengers from the bus. The Balaheri police station and Mahua police immediately arrived at the scene and they initiated a rescue exercise. By using a crane the bus was towed out of the main road completely off the ground. The police have taken the injured to Mahua Hospital which has seven Conditioner Seriously. Instances have been referred to the District Hospital in Dausa. All the five passengers who sustained severe injuries were flown to a hospital in Jaipur because of the intensity of their conditions.

ASI Siyaram said the deceased female have been established as Sundar Devi, 50, a resident of Haripura in Hanumangarh and Bhanwari Devi, 65, from Hariyasar, Sardar Shahr of Churu. The three medical practitioners testified that Sundar Devi succumbed to internal head injuries, and Bhanwari Devi died from deep injuries on the head.

The injured belongs to the age group of 28 to 65 years and are identified as- Mohanlal, santosh Swamy, umila, Shakuntala, Parameswari, Saraswati, saroj and Girdhawari hailing from hopge, Keshar Devi swamy, radha sharma, Kamal sharma, parvati, parvati swami. The police later got rid of the bus which had been wrecked on the highway and open the traffic.
