New Delhi: The Delhi Police recently arrested a man and his brother-in-law who were allegedly running a scam at one of the ATMs in Delhi-NCR. The people of Delhi reported of multiple frauds associated with an ATM scam. In tandem with these reports, Delhi police were informed of multiple ATM scams in Delhi NCR. Upon investigation, they arrested two relatives and ascertained how the inner workings of ATM Machine worked and filmed footage on how they used adhesive tapes and refrigerated cutters and steal plates to rob money.
A police investigation based on CCTV footage has so far only linked one of the suspects to the crime; an ATM was hacked by someone who due to the spacing of the cameras was unable to see an incomplete ATM on its front side. Mark Follis was detained for intercepting the orders of Webb. Webb commenced the investigation at Elmhurst Bank once they received a notification that cash was taken out of the ATM but the ATM machine inside the building still remained empty.
The two arrested individuals, Ankush, 28, of Mainpuri Uttar Pradeshh, and Bidnesh, 41, of New Sanjay Colony, Delhi, were said to have been on the run after committing several crimes. The police claimed that they provided an anonymous tip off about spotting the two near Pusta Road on Friday and called them in for questioning.
Ankush and Bidnesh, during interrogation, explained to the police how they managed to disfigure the ATMs. They wrapped the cash trays with plywood and adhesive tape, and manually interconnected sensor wires to disrupt the bank’s alarm system. Once the money became trapped inside the ATMs, they pretended to be innocent people waiting for a cash dispense so when they left, Ankush and Bidnesh would retrieve the cash.
Last week, a 28-year-old man was also killed in a car accident in Bhikaji Cama Place Ring Road, which is located in South West Delhi. In the past, he has also owned a few transportation businesses and was in the processes of looking for government jobs. The reason for his car collisions was due to an Audi driver who was aggressively speeding.
