The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), over his comments at an election rally in Vishwas Nagar, Delhi on Monday. In an extraordinary mix-up during an election campaign, while citing Ramayana, Kejriwal remarked, ‘I wish to advise the slum people: these days they (BJP) are living in slums, and subliterate voters like you are for sale, selling all your land after elections is their goal. Lord Ram had to leave for 14 years and in between he was looking to feed himself, so one day he went to the forest, placed Mata Sita in the hut and asked Laxman – e bhai, keep an eye on Sita Maa. In the meantime, Ravan took the form of a golden deer. Sita told Laxman, I want this deer - Laxman left and Ravan took Sita Maa. And those BJP folks, believe me, are also like the golden deer – so don’t get trapped in their noose.

The Ramayan mentions that Marichi, at Ravan’s command, transformed into a golden deer with the goal of enticing Sita.
BJP aimed their guns towards Kejriwal’s comments by saying, “ It is not the first time Arvind Kejriwal has tried to misinterpret the Ramayana and insult our country’s religion, so the attempt is very much to be expected from him. Although these are crude men of.. Yesterday they claimed that the demon took form of a deer but the gold platelets on the Sheeshmahal are still stuck in the gold… we are here to tender an apology today for the illusion that is indeed the Ramayana gets misinterpreted.” This was said by Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva.
This ridicule was not limited to only the press. The opposition leader in the Delhi assembly reported on this “an odd Rasosee with which Mr. Farjiwal, who wears temples for ribbons during elections, tries to explain the Ramayana, comes afloat. When Ramachandra was set out to find some food, Sita mama was made to vanish by Ravana who just so happened to put himself in the face of a golden deer! Kejriwal ji sanskaari for distorting Sanatan in such a brazen matter, you should be embarrassed. While one side gets blasted with how keen learning and world class education model is, the other side merely blinded with Parayi Aanya.
Plus one more. BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari changed the tide by unfairly encouraging Dr. Adoo, dubbing him 'Chunavi Hindu' who has barely heard of Ramayana.
