The 15th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 took place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, where UP Warriors faced off against Gujarat Giants. UP Warriors won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, Gujarat Giants posted a total of 186/5 in their 20 overs.
During this match, Beth Mooney came close to creating history but fell short by just 4 runs, missing out on becoming the first player to score a century in WPL history.
Beth Mooney's Near-Historic Knock
Gujarat Giants had a shaky start after losing Dayalan Hemalatha in the very first over for just 2 runs. However, Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol stabilized the innings with a solid 101-run partnership. Harleen contributed 45 runs before getting out, followed by Ashleigh Gardner, who managed only 11 runs.
Despite wickets falling at the other end, Mooney played aggressively, hitting boundaries at regular intervals. She remained unbeaten at 96 runs, missing her century by just 4 runs due to a lack of support from the other batters. Had she reached 100, she would have become the first-ever player to score a century in WPL history.
Beth Mooney Climbs to Third in WPL's Highest Individual Scores List

- Alyssa Healy (UP Warriors) - 96 runs* (against RCB)
