Maharashtra Politics : Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh) chief Uddhav Thackeray has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), accusing them of plotting to divide Mumbai. While addressing a gathering, he referenced the recently released film Chhava and drew parallels between historical figures and present-day politicians. According to him, history has always witnessed people like 'Anaji Pant' who betray their own. Taking an indirect jibe at BJP leaders, he remarked that some individuals consider themselves the absolute knowers of everything.
Uddhav Thackeray Slams RSS Leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi's Statement
Uddhav Thackeray fiercely criticized RSS leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi for his recent remarks in Ghatkopar. Expressing his anger, he said,
"Bhaiyyaji Joshi spoke utter nonsense in Ghatkopar on Wednesday and left. Earlier, these people used to instigate Hindu-Muslim conflicts, and now they are attempting to create disputes among Marathis."
Thackeray threw a direct challenge to Bhaiyyaji Joshi, daring him to go to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, or West Bengal and make similar statements. He questioned whether Joshi would even be able to return safely after making such divisive remarks outside Maharashtra.
Serious Allegations Against Devendra Fadnavis
Uddhav Thackeray also leveled serious accusations against Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, questioning whether there was an intentional effort to reorganize Mumbai's municipal wards based on language, similar to the linguistic reorganization of states in the past. According to him, this kind of move reflects a distorted mentality, indicating a calculated strategy to gradually seize power in Mumbai.
He didn't hold back in criticizing Fadnavis, stating:
"Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also a person of 'small mentality,' just like Bhaiyyaji Joshi. This should be stated openly, or else a case of treason should be filed against Bhaiyyaji Joshi."
Thackeray reminded the audience that during his tenure as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, his government enacted a law making Marathi a compulsory language in the state. He demanded strict government action on the issue, stating that if immediate steps are not taken, it will confirm that the RSS is executing a well-planned conspiracy with the BJP’s support.
He accused the BJP-RSS of following a systematic pattern, stating:
"First, they push a small pawn forward, and when it grows big, they carry it on their shoulders."
Uddhav Thackeray’s Stern Warning to the Government
While addressing the audience, Uddhav Thackeray issued a stern warning to the BJP-led government, stating that granting rights to the Marathi language was not an act of charity but a necessity. He took a direct dig at BJP’s attitude towards the Marathi-speaking population, adding:
"Even if the BJP doesn't care about the Marathi language, at least the British had some respect for it."
He reminded everyone that Mumbai was built and protected by the sacrifices of 280 Marathi people and that this land belongs to them. Taking another sharp jab at the RSS, he said:
"Whenever Mumbai has faced a crisis, we have united to protect it. We have safeguarded all communities as Hindus, but these people (RSS-BJP) deliberately create discrimination and division in society."
Thackeray’s strong words reflect his ongoing battle against the BJP and RSS, accusing them of political manipulation, power-grabbing tactics, and attempts to disturb Mumbai’s social fabric.
