After Trump first disclosed his plans to introduce the tariffs, the financial markets began to decline on Friday. The stock prices went down as well after the consumer sentiment dip during the week. Most of the participants in that survey noted the rising tariffs as a concern. From the survey, it also needs to be identified that American citizens believe inflation will increase in a few months due to the duties.
Trump has not elaborated any statements regarding the steel and aluminum duties, and the reciprocal tariffs on Sunday. He had previously said that he would place a 25% taxes on all goods from Mexico and Canada, but he decided to pause them for a period of 30 days a week ago. However, he went on to implement 10% duties on goods that are imported from China.

Washington: President Donald Trump stated that the announcement he planned on making this Monday will include the imposition of a 25% tariff on all aluminum and steel imports to the United States. This includes imports from Canada and Mexico. Other import duties will be announced later in the week.
“Every steel import to America will be charged a 25% tariff,” he said to reporters while he was onboard Air Force One on his way to the Super Bowl. While being questioned on tariffs placed on aluminum, he said, “Aluminum, too,” while saying that he will limit trade with the US.
