The incident took place when a massive slab collapsed inside the mine, trapping several workers under the debris. Coal Mine Collapse Claims Three Lives
According to reports, the accident happened in a coal mine operated by Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. The mishap occurred in the Chhatarpur area, about 65 kilometers from the district headquarters. Among the deceased were three employees, including a supervisor.
Superintendent of Police Nischal Jharia confirmed that the workers, who were rescued from beneath the debris, had succumbed to their injuries. Of the three victims, two were local residents, while the third was from Kawardha in neighboring Chhattisgarh.

Following the accident, rescue teams were swiftly deployed to the site to clear the debris and search for survivors. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent for post-mortem examination. Officials are also in contact with the victims' families to provide necessary assistance.
