EPFO Rules Change: In 2025, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will make many new changes for the employees. These changes are being made keeping in mind the convenience of the employees. Now EPFO is taking many important steps towards making the process related to EPF even simpler and convenient. Let us know about these changes.
Withdraw money from ATM card
Now employees will not have to visit the office to withdraw their EPF money. EPFO may soon issue an ATM card, through which employees will be able to withdraw their EPF amount from anywhere and at any time. This will make the process faster and convenient for employees.
Change in EPF contribution limit
Till now, the contribution of employees to EPF was only 12% of their basic salary and the contribution was only up to a limit of Rs 15,000. But now the government is considering abolishing this limit. This means that employees will be able to contribute to EPF on the basis of their entire salary, which will secure their future and provide more savings after retirement.
Plan to increase investment in stocks
EPFO is now planning to increase investment in stocks and other assets for better returns on its funds. This will help employees get good returns on their funds and increase their savings.
New facility for taking pension
EPFO has decided to implement the Centralized Pension Payment System (CPPS) from January 1, 2025. After this, employees will be able to get their pension from any bank branch, irrespective of the part of the country. This will make it easier for employees to get pension.
Last date for higher pension application
EPFO has fixed the last date for uploading salary details of employees as 31 January 2025. Apart from this, employers have to give clarifications sought by EPFO by 15 January 2025.
Changes in 2024
In 2024, EPFO had abolished the requirement of uploading photocopies of check leaves and bank passbooks to further simplify the claim process. Apart from this, physical applications will be accepted in the absence of Aadhaar details of the deceased member, which will be approved by the concerned officer.
It is worth noting that these changes will provide great relief to the employees and the EPF process will become even faster, simpler and beneficial.
