
Tamim Iqbal, former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, was urgently hospitalized after experiencing chest pain during a match in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Shortly after the toss, Tamim reported severe chest discomfort. He was taken to Fazilatunnes Hospital, where doctors later confirmed a heart blockage.

Medical professionals treating Tamim stated that he arrived in critical condition, and described the incident as a heart attack. An angiogram and angioplasty were immediately performed to remove the blockage. He is now under constant medical supervision.
An air ambulance transfer was considered, but due to health complications, it was canceled. Tamim returned to the original hospital where the necessary procedures were carried out.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) canceled a scheduled meeting following the news. Board President Farooq Ahmed, along with other officials, visited the hospital to monitor the situation firsthand.
