Nifty Bank and Midcap declined.
Nifty Bank also performed poorly. It fell 943.10 points or 1.83 percent to reach 50,588. Nifty Midcap 100 index also fell heavily, falling 1,024.95 points (1.82%) to close at 55,324.80. Smallcap 100 index also fell 382.50 points (2.10%) to close at 17,866.65.
Negative market trends
The market sentiment remains negative. About 302 stocks are trading in the green on the NSE, while 2,187 stocks are in the red. The main reason for this decline is heavy selling in various sectors, especially in the auto, IT, metal, and realty sectors.
IndusInd Bank suffers huge loss
IndusInd Bank has been the biggest hit in this decline. Its stock fell by 18.54 percent, due to which it reached Rs 1,042.70. The bank has recently announced quarterly results, in which net profit declined by 39 percent.
Investors' concerns
Analysts say that heavy selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) has brought more volatility to the market. FIIs have sold up to Rs 98,085 crore till the 24th of this month. This makes it clear that the strategy of buying on dips is not working, and investors have to be cautious.
It is worth noting that this fall has created uncertainty in the minds of investors. All eyes are now on the market trends of the coming days, it is hoped that the situation will improve soon.
