Singapore: The trainees onboard INS Sujata and ICGS Veera have been urged by the Indian High Commissioner in Singapore, Shilpak Ambule to aprove their opportunity on the trip to South East Asia.
While addressing a reception on Saturday evening, along with the First Training Squadron (1TS) and other officials such as a representative of RSN at Changi Naval Base, the envoy explained how their participation with friendly countries in the region will help them gain some tangible exposure.
"These engagements will provide tangible exposure for the trainees on board and offer them a unique opportunity to understand social, cultural and military as well as quintessential maritime linkages between our two countries as well as the Indian Ocean region and beyond,” said Ambule.
"Singapore happens to be a significant port of call for our training squadron not only from the point of view of martial experiences but most significantly one that exmplifies the long journey that other two nations have done togther which has becomes specially significant as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our dipomatic ties and Singapore's 60th birthday this year,'' he said.

During this visit, the ships undertook a number of events designed to boost the cooperation and collaboration between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy. While the ship is in port, plans include small sided games as well as Professional Exchanges and Cross Training Visits.
This activity deepens the already robust relations between the institutes of the two navies on the basis of SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region).
