In Hinduism, Amavasya (New Moon Day) holds great spiritual importance, especially for ancestral rituals. When it falls on a Saturday, it becomes Shani Amavasya, a day dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn). This day is particularly effective for reducing the effects of Shani Sade Sati and Shani Dhaiyya.

  • Do not consume meat, alcohol, or intoxicants.
  • Avoid harming animals like cows, dogs, or crows—they are sacred to Shani Dev.
  • Refrain from cutting hair, nails, or shaving.
  • Do not purchase iron items or things associated with Saturn.
