The outage was claimed to be from the top, with the CEO himself claiming that the issue affected 'some clients and services'. On February 8 further, the problem was shifted onto ' Ask PlayStation’ as they verified the malfunction. It was claimed that the details will take 24 hours for resolution.
Despite this, the top leaders of the organization confirmed in a notice that players will be moved to the next step without the need to log in. On the same day, there was a new issue caused where players were able to view different games but the console features were practically nonexistent. That X post stated that all features are active while the migration is under progress with no delay on any fronts. The head promised unhindered seamless access and then settled upon a different problem stating that users were very disappointed and made it clear that there was no excuse for this.
While denying the statement on X, the president confirmed the issue has been located and the claim of the leader being out of the loop is unfounded. Yet, the final claim made was that additional five days of service will be activated for people with ‘Playstation Plus’.
Later, the company published an X post which read, “Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. As a gesture of goodwill, all PlayStation Plus members will receive an additional five days of service free of charge.”
